Privacy
What Dear Slush stores, who can see it, and how to take it with you.
What we store
Browsing publications needs no account. With an account, Dear Slush stores:
- Your name, email address, and a hashed password, or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google.
- Your pieces, their versions, your submissions, your notes, and the publications you save or follow up on, with their history.
- Your time zone setting.
Who can see it
Your submissions and records are private. Only you and platform admins can see them. Opening a publisher’s submission site from Dear Slush sends nothing and creates no record.
Services that handle your data
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the app. Cloudflare Turnstile checks sign-ups.
- PlanetScale Postgres stores account and writer records.
- Password reset links are sent by email to the address on your account.
- Google handles sign-in when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Sentry receives error reports. Reports are configured to leave out user information, cookies, request headers and bodies, query strings, and database query data.
Dear Slush has no product analytics.
Export and import
Download your records any time from Settings: a complete JSON backup, a pieces CSV, and a submissions CSV. The JSON restores into an empty account.
Delete your account
