What they accept

Rhiza Press is an Australian publisher of children's and young adult fiction through its Wombat Books and Rhiza Edge imprints. Its Rhiza Edge Short Story Competition takes original, unpublished young adult short stories of 1,000 to 5,000 words that fit the declared theme, for a collection planned for 2028/9; entry costs $22.00 (the page does not name a currency; concession and school rates are available) and there is no cash payment — selected entrants receive complimentary copies of the book and a manuscript appraisal or pitch meeting. Entries close 30 September 2027; any author may enter, though AU and NZ based authors are primarily included.
