Collateral

Collateral is an online literary journal publishing fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and art about the impact of war and military service beyond the combat zone, including reintegration, waiting, homecoming, injury, loss, and the military/civilian divide, from veterans, military family members, and others affected. It reads submissions year-round, with issue deadlines of March 1 and September 1; fiction should not go longer than 5,000 words, simultaneous submissions are accepted, previously published fiction is not, and writers are asked to wait four to six months before querying.
