PseudoPod defines flash fiction as fiction under 1,500 words, with a sweet spot between 500 and 1,000 words, podcast approximately quarterly in Flash on the Borderlands episodes containing three or four flash stories with a common theme. Original flash fiction pays $0.08 per word, the same rate as short fiction; flash fiction reprints pay a $20 flat rate, compared with $100 flat for short story reprints.
