What they accept
34 Orchard is a twice-yearly online journal publishing dark short fiction — scary, disturbing, unsettling, and sad — of 1,000 to 6,000 words, one story per writer per window. It pays $50 flat on signing of the contract, through PayPal only, and for its 2027 issues the single stated reading window is January 1 to 7, 2027. Submissions sent outside a window are deleted unread, and tweaked versions of a piece already sent are not accepted.
